Paint, paint and more paint!

Painting!  That's what we've been up to out at the house.  We had the opportunity to up our flooring installation date to June 11th so we have a pretty tough deadline but we'll get it done.  As of today, ALL the priming is done and ALL the ceilings are done.  The upstairs bathroom is totally completed as is the kitchen, dining room, stairway and upstairs hallway.  The boys' rooms have the first coat on.  I forgot to take pictures yesterday when I was out there but here's a couple from last weekend.

Kitchen, this picture makes the color look green but it's not, it's brown with hints of gray.  The dining room and kitchen are the same color.
Upstairs bathroom

One of the best things about getting some rooms completed is that we can take the plastic off the windows!  I plan on painting again all day again tomorrow so I'll take some more pictures.  We've also started putting up some kitchen cabinets!  This needs to be done before Karsten can start installing the laminate floor which is coming Friday.  We can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Graduation

Last week, Jackson graduated from preschool.  The preschool teachers had a very nice program for "commencement".  I'm so proud of him, he's grown so much this school year.
FIRST day of preschool....
 LAST day of preschool....

Cutest thing when the kids all walked in, they all started looking for their parents.  Jackson spotted us immediately.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day this year we did something a little different.  Instead of relaxing we decided to build a tire play area at the campsite.  Mom and I got this idea after we went to Pinter's Pumpkin Patch.  There was an enormous tire area there, we thought we could do the same thing but on a much smaller scale.  Dad was in the field and Karsten was working at the farm house so Mom, Mike and I took this on.
Mike ran the loader tractor to start the holes for the tires.  We started with the biggest one first and got much better at it as we went along.
 First tire is all set!
Almost done, putting some fill dirt in.
Nice Mother's Day shot when we were done.
TA DA!!  We were very proud of what we accomplished today.  None of us are exactly what you would call "engineers" but we worked together and got it done.  We still plan on putting some lime around the entire thing but the boys already tried it out and loved it!  Next up, sandbox!
