Progress

I know, I know, I haven't posted about the farmhouse latest in a long time.  The reason being that while progress is being made it's not the noticeable kind.  Karsten has been working on wiring and heating lately.  I was out there yesterday so we could figure out some lighting issues so I snapped a few pictures.
This is noticeable!  Tristan's room is all wired and insulated.  Bring on the drywall!
 Jackson's room is ready too!
This is looking from the top of the steps.  Originally, this area was going to be walled off for an "extra room".  I figured it would be storage, toy room, treadmill room, etc.  However, after thinking about it, we decided to leave it open.  Sort of like a "loft" area at the top of the steps.  The far wall will be a large closet for storage, otherwise it will be open.  A wise decision I think.
This is the master bedroom.  The room straight ahead is the bathroom and the other space is a closet.
 Downstairs bathroom
Looking into the kitchen.  The doorway straight ahead will be the pantry, it's a very large area and I'm really excited for it.  As I mentioned in a different post, we are re-purposing the porch door for the pantry door.  The hallway on the left leads to the bathroom and the entry area.

As I said, Karsten has been very busy getting rooms wired and heat to them.  We are hoping to do some ceiling drywall next weekend.

Christmas Round-up

We had a really great Christmas.  I truly love the Christmas season and all that goes along with it.  We started our Christmas celebrations at my Aunt Joy's house on December 15th for the Sass/Davis Christmas. Growing up, after we "found out" about Santa we would always spend Christmas Eve with Joy and her family, rotating houses.  It was always such a great evening.  Now that we have our own family we no longer get together on Christmas Eve but we still try to get together.
The Sass/Foels Families  (not sure what Jackson is doing here)  And of course, Tristan in his usual pose.
The Davis Families.  So good to see everyone and the littles played together so well.

Next up was celebrating with Karsten's family on Sunday December 23rd.  Shirley and Christa were there as well as Byron and Sharon.  Another great evening with family.  The food is always DE-licious as Shirley and Sharon are both fabulous cooks.
The boys in front of Grandma Shirley's tree.

And finally, Christmas Eve was at our house with my family.  We played, ate, visited, went to church, ate more and opened presents.  Since I had to work Christmas Day we were hoping Santa Claus would come while we were at church.  Surprise, surprise, he did!  It was a late night and boy was I tired the next day but it was all worth it.
Our pathetic little tree.  We usually get a big real one but with everything we had going on this year I decided just to borrow this little one from my mom.  I didn't want to risk a house showing with the mess a real tree promises.  The boys didn't mind.  In fact, I think they may have liked it better because they could reach the entire tree instead of half.
Santa Claus came!  These boys must have been pretty good too!

Another Christmas come and gone.  This year was very bittersweet.  It is the last year we will be in this house for Christmas.  So many memories are here but we are also very much looking forward to new memories out at the farmhouse.

New blog site

I decided it was time for a change of blog.  This was kinda decided for me since I pretty much ruined my other one by deleting all my pictures from the posts.  Blogger informed me that I'd used up all my "free" space to store pictures and since I'm too cheap to pay the fee, I somehow managed to delete all my stored pictures which therefore deleted them from all my posts.  Needless to say, I didn't know that would happen. I never claimed to be a computer whiz, all I wanted was to share what we've been up to with family and friends.  So...New Year, New Blog!

The title comes from Jackson.  When he wants to know what he will be doing "tomorrow" he always asks "what do I do after this bedtime".  He likes to know what to expect (kinda like his mother) so he can plan.  Now that he is a bit older, I am trying to get him to understand "tomorrow" and "yesterday" and so on and so forth.

Our family continues to be busy!  Stay tuned for our recent "goings on"!
