Mud!!

We decided to hire out the mudding and I'm sure glad we did.  They started about 2 weeks ago and will hopefully be done today!!  This entire house project has been taking so long but now (finally) it seems there's an end in sight.
I only took a couple pictures of the mudded walls because really, if you've seen one mudded wall you've seen them all.  Above is the upstairs looking from the boys side, it looks towards the loft area and our bedroom above the garage.
This one is looking into the dining room and kitchen.
Since the weather has warmed up (finally) Karsten has been back out working on siding.  I'm sooooo happy with the colors we picked out.

Next up inside will be texturing the walls and ceilings followed by PAINT!!!  Painting party anybody?

Light 'er up!

Since we started our house project we have put any "burnable" items into the old building on the south edge of the property.  It had grown into quite a large pile.  For the past few months, we have been waiting for just the right conditions to start it on fire.  Last Sunday became the day.  Doug came out and moved a bunch of hay bales into it and then they lit it up.  The boys and I had just gotten home (to Farmersburg) from church and we could see smoke to the west.

After

I have been wanting to get some cats at the farm to help deal with the mouse issue we have but Karsten said we weren't getting any cats until that building was gone, which made sense.  Anybody have some farm cats they want to get rid of?

My birthday

I recently turned 33 and had a great birthday to go with it.  My boys made me hand made birthday cards and picked out their own presents.  Supper was at TJ's Pizza (my favorite) with chocolate cake for dessert.  The only picture I got was of my presents, I had to wear both of them of course.
Aren't they purdy?!

Easter Catch-up

A few pictures of egg dying....

Dying eggs was a lot more fun this year.  Tristan was sorta into it but got bored easily, he's 3.  Jackson on the other hand, REALLY got into it.  He wanted to let the eggs set in the color for longer and then he would switch them into different colors to see what they would look like.  It was really fun just watching him experiment.

I had to work Easter weekend so the Easter bunny came on Good Friday.  Luckily, my boys don't care WHEN he comes as long as he comes.
Checking out their Easter baskets.  Nothing too exciting this year, just the usual outside "fun" stuff.
Searching for eggs in the house.

Karsten spent the weekend working at the house as usual so the boys moved around all weekend.  Saturday they spent the day with Grandma Shirley, who took them to Greens' Sugar Bush for pancakes.  They had a lot of fun with the pony rides and wagon rides, Jackson explained all about how maple syrup is made.  Easter Sunday they spent the first part of the day with Grandma and Papa.  They went to Rob and Mary's for dinner and then went home with Uncle Mike to spend the night.  They had so much fun!
